The Packers’ gut-wrenching 31-26 loss to the Buccaneers at Lambeau Field had been over for less than an hour Sunday, and Aaron Rodgers was searching for words in the face of another NFC Championship Game disappointment.

Tramon Williams played for the Packers from 2007 through 2014, then again in 2018 and 2019, before the team opted not to re-sign him last spring.

The Battle of the Bays might well be decided by what Mr. Six Rings does against the Packers' defense, or what the 2020 All-Pro Rodgers manages versus the Buccaneers' D.

Tom Brady’s teams are 10-3 against Mike Pettine-led defenses, including winning the past eight games.

“Anytime you call on Billy, he steps up and does a great job for us,” offensive line coach Adam Stenavich said.

"We’ll take what we can from that game and try to learn from it, and apply it where we can in this upcoming game,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur said of the 38-10 loss to Tampa Bay.

On Oct. 18, the Buccaneers routed the Packers 38-10, but that was at Tampa, while Sunday's NFC title game will be at Lambeau Field as future Hall of Famers Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady meet for just the fourth time.

“I forgot how much you truly, truly miss having a crowd there," Aaron Rodgers gushed after the Packers dispatched the Rams. "It’s hard to really put into words how special that feeling is. But you can feel it. It’s so palpable.”
