UPDATE- The Billings Police posted this update on twitter:
"A single occupant, private airplane crash landed at the base of the rims. The single occupant was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The FAA will take over the investigation on Monday morning. Sgt. Gunther."
Billings Police say the crash occurred at 11:44 a.m. on Saturday, September 12.
First responders found the wreckage between the Rims and Vuecrest Drive.
Sgt. Shane Winden of the Billings Police said the Logan International Airport reported an inbound plane with engine failure gliding in for an emergency approach.
The plane crashed just yards away from homes on Vuecrest Drive.
BILLINGS- A small plane has crashed in the rims.
The plane crashed at Vuecrest Drive and North 17th Street.
Witnesses say that the plane was flying low before it crashed.
At this time there are no reports of flames.
