CHEYENNE, Wyo. - The section between Laramie and Cheyenne I-80 is closed to light, high-profile vehicles due to powerful winds Tuesday.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation is reporting 81 mile-per-hour wind gusts with 53 mile-per-hour winds at Cooper Cove.
East of Cooper Cove, a crash cleanup of a semi-truck and smaller vehicle pulling a camper is blocking the right lane on Highway I-80 westbound near Strouss Hill, according to the Facebook post by WYDOT.
WYDOT said many light, high-profile vehicles have stopped at the side of the roadway near Cooper Cove due to strong winds and high danger of tipping over.
Campers and RVs are considered as light, high-profile vehicles.
