Dr. Jack Horner, the man Steven Spielberg called on to help create dinosaurs for Jurassic Park, is in Billings leading a few lectures.
Dr. Horner is one of the most sought after paleontologists in the world. His first lecture described the seas that once covered Montana, which gave birth to the Rims in Billings along with several of Montana's dramatic landscapes and fossil finds.
In the audience were students from local high schools.
Zack Hetland, Billings West Freshman, said he has been a fan of Horner's work for many years. This lecture, he said, was a dream come true for him.
Hetland's Earth Science Teacher, Denece Lord, said the Earth has an incredible story and she teaches her students that if they learn how to read that story, there's some pretty cool things they can discover.
Dr. Horner will hold another lecture Thursday evening at Billings Public Library from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
