Billings police are reminding vehicle owners to not to walk away from an unlocked vehicle while it's running.
Billings police report from November into December, they have received 115 stolen vehicle reports.
Out of the 72 cases in November, police say they have recovered 49 vehicles.
So far in December, police say they've had 43 reports of stolen vehicles with 19 recovered.
Police say the majority of the thefts happened while the vehicles were unlocked and unattended.
Detectives have interviewed a suspect in some of the thefts. They say that person indicated some of the stolen vehicles are being taken out of state.
Police want to remind people leaving your vehicle unattended is against state law.
