Miles of gravel road

Frontier, nevertheless?

In a land deemed 'frontier' there's no greater adventure than traveling on Montana roads: whether it be on a highway, two-lane secondary or miles upon miles of gravel. I believe, we in Montana spend more time behind the windshield than any other state.
Today it is possible to journey the width of the state in twelve hours from Idaho to South Dakota. However, it would be hard to accomplish. Along it's way, one can gain "access to colorful countryside". Traveling through mountains, green valleys, along rivers, a beautiful wonder can be behold. The variety of animals; wild or domestic, wild flowers, fields of wheat and alfalfa swaying with the breeze can be observed. On the otherhand, the one thing that seems to come to mind in the 'Spirit of Montana' is the time we take to visit with neighbor and friends. We never pass the chance to stop and visit as seen from our window in the middle of the county road.
