This picture was taken in the mountains in central Montana where our family goes hunting in the fall and camping in the summer. My husband and his family have been going there since the late 70's - I started joining him in fall of 1999. It's a place that is undisturbed by large crowds and construction. We can take our dogs and they are free to be dogs and run and play in the fields as you can be there and not run in to any other people. This is my favorite picture of the spirit of Montana in part because of the beautiful wildflowers blooming. The other reason is my dog Sam - the yellow lab in the picture. Shortly after this picture was taken a couple years ago his health began to deteriorate and he could no longer run and frolic the same as he used to. He is no longer with me on earth and this picture is a great tribute to him when he could really enjoy the wonderful outdoors of Montana. Even though this picture is a couple years old, I really think I couldn't get a better picture capturing the spirit of Montana.
