LAME DEER, Mont. -

Rosebud County Sheriff Alan Fulton identifies the 15-year-old male who was found unconscious on the grounds of Lame Deer High School and later pronounced dead as Rueben Littlebird.

The student was taken to the town's Indian Health Services clinic after he was found. Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.

According to their Facebook page, Lame Deer High School cancelled classes on Wednesday in response to the tragedy.

The sheriff, who also serves as the county's coroner, says no foul play is suspected and no physical trauma was visible. An autopsy was performed on Wednesday, September 12th, but the cause of death has not yet been determined. He believes the incident was a result of a previously existing medical condition.

Sheriff Fulton says drugs were not involved, and there is no danger to the community.

This is a developing story, we will update with more information as we have it.
