Bond has been increased to $200,000 for a man being held in jail on an assault on a minor charge.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office responded to a child abuse report and found a 4-year-old boy with serious injuries. The boy was airlifted to an out-of-state hospital, according to Lake County Sheriff Don Bell.

Keith Michel Jr., 28, was arrested on an outstanding warrant and charged with assault on a minor. He was originally held on $20,000 bond. That was increased to $200,000, Tuesday.

The following is the initial press release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office:

The Lake County Sheriff's Office and CSKT Tribal Police investigated the report of possible child abuse occurring in the Ronan area upon a 4 year old boy.  Officers were able to locate the child and determined he was in need of immediate medical attention.  The child was transported via ambulance to a local hospital prior to being flown to an out of state hospital.  The child is currently in stable condition.

28 year old, Keith Michele Jr. was arrested on an outstanding warrant and later charged with assault on a minor and placed in the Lake County Jail where he remains on a $20k bond.  A 24 year old female was arrested for an outstanding warrant through tribal court.  Other children in the home were remanded to Tribal Social Services.  Investigation is continuing and it is expected that more charges may be filed as a result of the investigation.
