99-Year-Old Walks Miles Every Day To Visit Wife In Hospital

Posted: Updated:
CNN -

A 99-year-old man in Rochester, New York walks miles in the heat every day to visit his wife in the hospital.

Luther and Waverlee Younger have been married for over 55 years.  The two built a life together, started a family, and made memories.  But in 2009, Waverlee was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  She's been in and out of hospitals ever since.

Younger is determined to visit her every day - without a car, he simply puts one foot in front of the other.  He typically walks six miles a day.

In the recent weeks, his story has gone viral, shared on news outlets across the world.

Lutheta Younger, Luther's daughter, says, "He loves his wife.  He loves my mom. I think it's a great love story."
