Woman rescued at Big Sky after horseback riding accident

BIG SKY, Mont. -

An injured horseback rider was rescued at Big Sky over the weekend. 

According to the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office, a 28-year-old woman from New York fell from a horse and was unable to get up. The incident happened near the North Fork Trailhead area around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Rescuers located the woman and were able to transport her via ATV. She was then taken to Big Sky Medical Center for treatment.

    After helping fight the Woolsey fire in Southern California, a group of Missoula Rural firefighters are back home, just in time for Thanksgiving.  Missoula rural fire sent a task force of six firefighters to Camarillo, California to help fight the Woolsey fire. Libby Hooper was on that team and said the Woolsey fire is different than what she's used to seeing in Montana.
