Pearl Jam concertgoers asked to avoid the I-90 exit at Van Buren
By ABC FOX MT News Staff
If you're heading into town on Monday, Aug. 13 for the Pearl Jam show, avoid the Van Buren Street exit on I-90.
A spokesperson for Montana Department of Transportation said in a press release that while the eastbound exit ramp may be opened by that week, heavy construction will continue on Van Buren Street, and the nearby portion of the interstate will still be reduced to single-lane traffic.
Officials are expecting high traffic volume for the day of the Pearl Jam concert at Washington Grizzly Stadium.
Officials encourage concert-goers to instead take the Orange Street or East Missoula exits to get to the show.
Bicycle and pedestrian traffic will continue to be detoured to the east sidewalk of Van Buren Street, and flaggers will be out to assist pedestrians and cyclists navigating the traffic on the day of the concert.
Officials say that construction may cause delays in the Bonner area along Interstate 90. While there will be flaggers on site, the delays will be limited during the afternoon of the concert. While travelling during non-peak hours, travelers can expect an additional 20 minutes of travel time.
