MADE fair expanding to Bozeman

Posted: Updated:
BOZEMAN -

The MADE fair, one of Montana's biggest events for local and regional craft businesses, just got a bit bigger by adding an autumn event in Bozeman. According to a press release, the 2-day Bozeman MADE fair is scheduled for October 20-21, at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse on the Montana State University campus.

HandMADE Montana, the organization that is hosting the event, already has three other annual MADE fairs, including an early summer event at Caras Park in Missoula, and MADE fairs for the holiday season in Helena and Missoula. The 12th annual Missoula winter MADE fair is held on December 9 at the Adams Center, while the 2nd annual Helena MADE fair will be at the Lewis & Clark Fairground on December 1-2.

These MADE fairs showcase local and regional artisans, giving makers of art and handcrafted goods a place to sell their goods. According to the press release, one mission of the MADE fair is "to increase awareness of handmade goods as an alternative to mass-produced items".

This will be the first MADE fair for the Bozeman area. The 50,000 square foot Brick Breeden Fieldhouse will host over 200 artisans, local non-profits, activities, and artists in residence. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 20, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 21.

There is still time to sign up to sell your own handcrafted items at MADE fair. The deadline to apply for a spot at the Bozeman event is September 1, while the deadline to apply for the Helena and Missoula shows is October 1.
