Foster parent with heart disease will participate in Heart & Sole run

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS, Mont. -

The Heart and Sole Run is just around the corner. One man who will be there has many reasons why he will be participating and they are all walking with him.

Matthew Lee is a foster parent of five children, not including his three biological children. He cares for children of mothers with drug or alcohol addictions. Lee said he was diagnosed with heart disease last September.

He said his wife has heart problems as well, which encouraged them to participate in the Heart and Sole Run.

"We want to go and take all the kids out," Lee said. "They love going in the big four-person stroller and getting outside and now that it's summer time, they want to just go, go, go."

Lee said he wants his family to be aware of heart-related illnesses. He also said this will be their first Heart and Sole Run  and the family is excited to attend.
