Although the U.S. didn’t make it into the World Cup, a local bar known as the Celtic Cowboy is still gearing up for the big game.
The Celtic Cowboy is a relatively new bar to downtown Great Falls.
In fact, they were only 6 months old during the last World Cup.
Despite their young age, this hasn’t stopped the pub from being named the top bar for sports experience in the nation by the Irish Pub Social Consortium or preparing for this year’s World Cup.
The Celtic Cowboy is preparing to accommodate fans of other nationalities by hosting viewing parties and having plenty of beer on tap.
As far as affecting their weekly participation and revenue, owner Wayne Thares says it’s too hard to tell, especially with the time difference.
"Really it’s going to be hard to say. You know, without the U.S. in the World Cup… People still have their favorite teams, still root for their national teams so… it’s really going to be interesting to see," said Wayne Thares, Owner of Celtic Cowboy.
Regardless of the circumstances, Wayne says that major sporting events tend to draw a large crowd and the World Cup has been their most popular event by far.
If your team made it to the World Cup, the Celtic Cowboy might be the place to watch and celebrate!
