Police need help locating murder weapon

The Billings Police Department needs the public's help to locate the knife used a weekend homicide.

BPD says describes the knife as 5 1/2 inches with a steel blade. 

It has a black handle and a black sheath.

Police believe the weapon is between 13th and 28th Street West and Grand and Broadwater Avenue.

If you see the knife you are asked not to touch it.

Instead call police immediately at 657-8200.

Police believe the knife was used by Donald Gray Junior Sunday to kill 81-year-old William Joy of Billings.

Gray remains in the Yellowstone County Detention Facility on a million dollar bond.

Gray is charged with deliberate homicide. He faces life in prison if convicted,
