Montana card collector helping family honor late baseball player

Posted: Updated:

The family of a late baseball player wants to preserve his memory through baseball cards, and a Montana man is helping them do so.

Ryan Freel, who played for the Cincinnati Reds from 2003-2008, died by suicide in 2012. His dad wants Ryan's daughters to remember their dad as a great ballplayer, so he's collecting their dad's cards  and wants to collect enough to fill three binders.

WLWT reports Montana-based collector Matthew Christian is working to get the cards to Freel's father.

He asks for donations to be sent to this location: 3737 Corwin St., Bozeman, MT, 59718

He'll be sending the cards to Freel's father later this month.
