How high will Sidney's Garrison Hughes go? That's the big question as the future Nebraska Cornhusker pole vaulted 17' at the Eastern A Divisional in Glendive on Saturday. Hughes, a two time Class A pole vault champion, has now vaulted over the 16'4" state record four times this season, now has only one meet left this season to set his sights on: the Class A-B State met in Laurel. The 17' vault is the highest recorded in Montana history, but in order to be the state record holder, Garrison will have to clear a height higher than former Helena High, and current Washington Husky, Chase Smith's 16'4" at the Laurel Sports Complex during the state meet. So the only question that remains, is how high will the Sidney Eagle go?
