National Infrastructure Week wraps up in Billings

Posted: Updated:

The Montana Infrastructure Coalition is wrapping up National Infrastructure Week with its last stop in Billings.

Project discussions range from water treatment plants to road improvements.

Attendees at today's meeting included Billings Public Works and legislators.

Clean water and efficient roads are a necessity in every community and the Montana Infrastructure Coalition is looking to provide these options in a cost effective manner.

"This is about providing tools for local governments," said Darryl James, Executive Director of the Montana Infrastructure Coalition. "It's about making sure we have a comprehensive understanding of what infrastructure needs we have in the state and providing the appropriate tools to local governments to be able to address those appropriately." >

According to the 2014 American Society of Civil Engineer's report card, Montana's infrastructure earned a grade of C- approaching a critical state of disrepair.
