Through two games this season, scoring doesn't seem to be much of an issue for the Billings Scarlets. In only their second game of the season the Scarlets found themselves in a 5-1 hole early to the Butte Miners at Pirtz Field, but rallied back to tie things at 5 apiece by the end of three innings. But seemingly every time Billings would close the gap, Butte would convert another scoring opportunity. The momentum seemed to swing in the Scarlets' favor when Ben Tallman sent a two run home run over the left field wall to tie it at 7, but again, Butte retook the lead before Billings had a chance to savor their momentum. Things came to a head in the bottom of the ninth, however, as Cole DeVries delivered a bases loaded walk off single that scored Christian Michaelson, as the Scarlets moved to 2-0 with the 12-11 win. The Scarlets will now play double headers in Missoula on Saturday and Sunday.
