BILLINGS, Mont. -

An early morning two-vehicle crash closed Broadwater Avenue near 26th St. W. Friday.

According to Sgt. Scott Conrad with the Billings Police Department, officers were dispatched around 7:40 a.m. to that area regarding reports of a crash involving two vehicles.

When officers and medical arrived on the scene, they found a 29-year-old female driver of one car to be severely hurt with multiple injuries. She was immediately transported to St. Vincent Healthcare.

Sgt. Conrad said initial reports indicate the woman in a 2001 Toyota Camry was on 26th St. W. stopped northbound for the stop sign at Broadwater Ave. Witnesses said a full-size truck pulling a work trailer was traveling eastbound on Broadwater Ave. and was slowing down to turn right on 26th in the second lane on Broadwater, a 70-year-old woman was traveling eastbound in a 2013 Ford Edge.

Sgt. Conrad said it is believed that the woman driving the Camry could not see the Ford Edge and turned right onto Broadwater. The crash occurred with the main impact being the Camry's driver side door. The 29-year-old had to be extricated from the vehicle by the fire department.

The 70-year-old woman was also transported to St. V's for minor injuries.
