It’s a common thing for people to walk around the house in their shoes. You almost don’t even think twice about it!
However, a recent study shows that this is one of the leading causes of getting sick
Believe it or not, your shoes are literally a nice, cozy home for bacteria. In fact, the outside of your shoe carries roughly 421,000 bacterial cells.
95% of the bacteria we track in are from things we’ve stepped on. This includes things such as chemicals from the asphalt, fertilizer, public restrooms, etc.
This is especially harmful to the elderly as well as younger children who are crawling and playing on the floor.
A recent study showed that approx. 40% of shoes contained the bacteria known as C Diff., which causes stomach illness and in some cases, death,
The study also revealed that roughly 30% of shoes contained the bacteria E. Coli.
So what’s the cure? Well, the first thing to do is to stop wearing your shoes inside. It's also a good idea to remove your shoes whenever you're at a friends house.
The next step is to clean your shoes! This will make a huge difference and help to keep you and your family healthy.
As an added bonus, you'll have a cleaner house as well!
