Helena and Havre schools shut down ahead of storm

Helena Public Schools will not be in session Friday.  The district made the announcement earlier this morning after they decided to release students early from school Thursday.

All state, athletic tournaments are a go, including state swimming here in great falls and state wrestling in Billings.

However, Helena area basketball games have been postponed until Saturday.  There are no basketball games Thursday night or Friday for Helena High or Helena capital.

The Hi Line was hammered overnight on Wednesday. There was even an emergency travel only advisory in Havre. ResidentJosh Miller told us drifts are upwards 3 feet high and it hasn't really slowed down. Miller said snow was falling about an inch per hour on average.
