Wednesday was officially known as early signing day for high school football recruits across the U.S. Two Billings Senior broncs put their names on paper to play at the next level.
Nolan Askelson is headed to Montana State, while is teammate, Gabe Sulser will go to Montana. Both young men helped lead the broncs to the Class AA Football Championship, as well as, an undefeated season.
Last year, as a junior, Askelson was a running back. This year, he became quarterback, as well as, linebacker for the broncs. With 86 solo tackles and 41 assisted tackles in the 2017 season, Askelson will stay on the defensive side, as a linebacker for the Cats.
As for Sulser, he will head to Missoula to play for Bobby Hauck. He was named Gatorade Montana Football Player of the Year for 2017. Sulser recorded 27 total touchdowns his senior year.
