MSUB Women Head to Winter Break with Momentum

The MSU Billings womens basketball team got a nice win Saturday night over Rocky Mountain for a season sweep over their crosstown rivals.

The Yellowjackets didn't shoot the ball particularly well in their win over the Battlin' Bears at only 39%, but it was behind the three point line where they made a living, going 8-19 for 42% from deep. Tiana Hanson led the effort with 21 points for MSUB, but more important than the individual statistics is getting the win going into break for the Yellowjackets. So now with 12 days off until their next game MSUB is hoping to keep the momentum rolling.

"It gives us a lot more confidence," said Hanson. "I mean there's been a couple rough patches throughout the season, and we're trying to figure out the different roles we all have to play, and try to make everything click. But tonight was a step forward, and we hope to continue to step forward throughout the season."

"I think it's good to go off, good to go into break with a win," said Yellowjackets junior guard Rylee Kane. "It gives us a little motivation. We get that time off, but I think we'll keep working hard. Now we're going to get into conference play, and I think that'll be good for us, and it'll give us a little momentum."
