MSUB Men Hit Stride Heading into Winter Break

Posted: Updated:

Saturday's win for the Montana State University Billings over Rocky Mountain win capped off a terrific start to the season the Yellowjackets, who have won five of their last six games before taking a few weeks off for winter break. The 'Jackets lone loss in their streak came to Concordia University, but it was a loss to California State East Bay that changed the course of this year's season for MSUB. The 'Jackets fell 54-50 in that one at home, which led them to rework the offense. And since that 50 point outing, MSUB hasn't scored less than 79 points in each of their past six games.

"After the Cal State East Bay loss we started, we had a different mindset going into every game, just honestly, to continue to get better," said Yellowjackets senior Marc Matthews. "And ever since we went on the road trip, we got better those three games. We didn't play the best against Concordia, but these last two we did pretty well, and we're going to break on a good note."

"I feel like we're just starting to click at the right time," said Yellowjackets sophomore Preston Beverly. "These five games we've been getting it, they're a momentum booster. This game, we definitely wanted this game after letting one slip over at Rocky. So I feel like this is just one more step."
