BILLINGS, Mont. -

A 65-year old man was found dead on a sidewalk on Montana Ave and North 27th street at about 8 am Sunday morning.

Sgt. Winden says the man is believed to be a transient and was camping on the sidewalk near St. Vincent de Paul's. Winden says a YSCO deputy was driving down Montana Avenue and was flagged down by other people sleeping in the area.

Winden says the man was transported to Billings Clinic but pronounced dead. According to Winden, the cause of his death is under investigation, but the man did have a health history, and has been hospitalized several times over the past weeks.

Winden says the man had a known heart condition but it's unclear if his health or the cold was the cause of death. Both are possible factors.
