Red Lodge businesses are excited about the winter season

Posted: Updated:
RED LODGE, Mont. -

I had a blast walking up and down Broadway Avenue this afternoon speaking to local business owners as to how Red Lodge Mountain opening impacts them.

"Very excited, this is great business for us. We had our Christmas Stroll the last two days, weekend before that Thanksgiving and the mountain open so we've been busy," Pizza Manager Robbie said.

There's snow doubt about it, families are visiting, dogs tails are wagging and business is booming again in Red Lodge as the winter sport season is in full swing. But mostly everyone I spoke with says there's one thing missing.

"Right now there should be about this much snow.." Alex said.

Business owners and families are all doing a snow dance hoping the snow gods can make some winter magic happen.

"We'd love if the snow birds would come," Sisters employee said.

"It'd be better if we had more snow," Alex said.

Even with the lack of snow, business isn't melting away.

"The conditions are good the conditions are better this year than they were last year at opening time, so everyone's having a great time."
