MSUB Chancellor Mark Nook in the running for president at University of Northern Iowa

The man who has helped push enrollment growth at Montana State University Billings may be moving on. On Wednesday Chancellor Mark Nook was out of state interviewing for a new position.

Dr. Nook is one of three top finalists for president at the University of Northern Iowa.

MSUB Director of University Relations and Communications, Aaron Clingingsmith, issued a statement saying, "We recognize president positions across the country don't come up too frequently and this is a great opportunity for Chancellor Nook to return to Iowa, where he grew up, and for him and his wife to be closer to their kids and grandkids."

Nook received his master's degree in Astrophysics at Iowa State University and his doctorate in Astronomy from the University of Wisconsin.

Clingingsmith says the Iowa Board of Regents is expected to announce sometime next month who gets the job.
