BILLINGS, Mont. -

KULR-8 spoke with MetraPark and the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office. The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed. We also spoke with the vendor, who is taking the situation seriously and is reviewing everything.

Sheriff Mike Linder says the investigation should wrap up later this week. From there, the County Attorney will take over to review the case, to determine whether any charges will be filed.

Again, we reached out to the gun show vendor, Sports Connection.

The company is conducting its own review.

The person i spoke to at Sports Connection says the company is looking into safety measures to prevent things like this from happening in the future.

Two people were injured when a rifle went off at a gun show at MetraPark's Montana Pavilion Friday. According to Captain Bill Michaelis with the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office, a vendor was showing an attendee a rifle when it went off.

Michaelis says the two people injured are a man and a young girl. He says their injuries are not life-threatening.

Michaelis says it's not clear if a bullet or shrapnel actually struck the man's hand, but his injuries were severe enough to take him to the hospital. Michaelis says the young girl was hit by shrapnel particles.

Michaelis wants to remind everyone to be careful with firearms, especially at gun shows. He also says make sure the barrel is empty. So far, no charges have been filed against the vendor.
