Billings transportation service driver helps save drunk woman

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS, Mont. -

A video of a driver from a local transportation service is making it's way around social media. In the clip, he's seen helping an intoxicated woman not get hit by cars when crossing the street.

KULR-8's Tanya Modersitzki has more on what made this driver risk getting traffic violation tickets to ensure one woman's safety.

We first brought you the story about one man starting a free shuttle service to help reduce the amount of drunk drivers on the road. Saturday started off, as what seemed to be a normal night for drivers with Billings Shuttles.

One of the drivers took his, already good deed, above and beyond.

"Really, I don't know what to say about what happened last night," Justin Huckaby, Billings Free Shuttles Organizer said.

In this video, Huckaby says one of his driver's claims he was attacked by a customer last night after telling a man to get his hands off of her. The woman in pink, the  customer,  called Huckaby 13 times asking for a ride.

"She turned around and said she was drunk, I've been drinking with slurred words and I really need a ride. I need to get out of here. So whenever she told me she needed to get out of here I figured she was in trouble, something was wrong. So I sent a driver to go pick her up," he said.

When his driver, Louis Samoville picked the woman up, she requested to go to a Billings bar.

In a Facebook message from Samoville it reads in part:
"She was suicidal and darting in front of cars in a dark area. My main concern was the time of night, drunks or anyone would not see her and something tragic would happen."

That's when Samoville jumped into action.

"My driver was not going to let that happen. He was going to flash his lights or block the whole road. I mean, couple traffic violations ain't nothing compared to saving somebody's life," Huckaby said.
