All Class State Volleyball Tournament Day Two Results and Highlights

Posted: Updated:

It's a battle of the unbeaten in day two of Montana's All Class State Volleyball Tournament
For teams competing in tonight's undefeated semis, the goal is simple:
knock your opponent out of the bracket, and punch a ticket to the state championship.
"Whatever it takes to get there," Billings Senior Coach Jeff Carroll said,
everybody  is bringing something to the table and that's what you have to have in order to have a successful team."
And for Carroll's Broncs, it will take a win over Missoula Sentinel to get to the big dance.
Spartans come out strong in the semis -
Jordyn Schewen will add 9 blocks while sister Shelby leads the team with 13 kills
Maybe Broncs need a target to get their offense going ----say, myself perhaps?
Sentinel takes set one easy but it's a different story to start the second
Senior isn't ready to go quietly into the night! Kelsey Sargent will add 9 kills while Sam Bonenberger assists 14 of her teammates,
Broncs keep sets 2 and 3 tight but Spartans refuse to lose.
Sentinel sweeps it but may see Broncs again in the championship
In Class B semis - Huntley Project  is looking for revenge against defending state champ: Red Lodge.
Rams beat Red Devils for the title last year and the defending champs start this round hot
Red Lodge takes set 1 & 2 , led by 18 kills from Zoe cortner 39 assists from Natalie Hikderman and 35 digs from Kylie Kelly
The project puts up a mighty fight though, Red Devils take set 3 and 4 but Rams will win it in 5 and aim for a back to back state title!
"We just took it to them the first two games," Rams Coach Darcy Stracke said. "You know, Huntley Project is a well coached team and they came back with a lot of fight the third and fourth game but we turned it back on and we got it done so I'm just so proud of these girls but it's not done yet we got one more to finish"
By this time tomorrow 4 teams will claim a state championship.
