Thursday accident linked to cemetery disturbance

BILLINGS, Mont. -

The Billings Police Department has connected a multicar accident Thursday night to a disturbance that occurred in Mountview Cemetery.

According to police, officers were dispatched to 24th St. West and Central Ave. in reference to a car wreck.  A witness reported that one of the subjects involved had a gun.  This subject had fled the scene prior to BPD arrival. 

The wreck included one truck and two passenger cars with the truck occupied by a male driver and a female passenger. 

According to police, the truck and its occupants had been involved in a disturbance that occurred in Mountview Cemetery along with the subject with the gun. 

Police say that during the disturbance the male with the gun fired at the occupants in the truck. The truck sped off leaving the cemetery west bound on Central Ave. 

Police say that the suspect with the gun gave chase following the truck in a dark colored passenger car.  The truck was boxed in at a red light on Central Ave. with the suspect passenger car behind him. 

Police say that the suspect from the passenger car that had fired the gun at the cemetery got out of his vehicle and started to approach the truck.  At this point the male driver of the truck then rammed the cars in front of him in an attempt to get away.  The suspect got back into his car and left the area.

Police say further details are are difficult to obtain due to the lack of cooperation from the parties involved.
