Options if you haven't mailed absentee ballots

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS, Mont. -

Election Day, one week from today. Just seven days left to turn in your ballot.

If you were planning on mailing your absentee ballot, the Elections Commission recommends mailing them today to make sure they get counted.

There's still thousands of absentee ballots that have not been turned in.

Over 60,000 absentee ballots were sent out last month in Yellowstone County. County Election Administration staff say just over 43,000 ballots have been returned.

With a week left, USPS recommends ballots be mailed by today to ensure delivery.

If you didn't make the deadline, don't worry. Ballots can be returned in person to the Election Administrator's Office or polling place on Election Day.

Election Administrator, Bret Rutherford says voters issued an absentee may not vote using a regular ballot at the polls. They would be required to vote a provisional ballot that won't be counted until November 14th, to ensure the absentee ballot was not returned.

If you need a replacement ballot, those can be picked up at the Election Administration's Office until noon, November 7th. We are your Election Headquarters so tune in this time next week for full election night coverage.
