Man charged in weekend shooting

A man on parole for a homicide in Lewis and Clark County in 2003 is charged after a shooting in Billings.   

40-year-old Jamie Lee Bristow is charged with assault with a weapon, criminal endangerment and partner or family member assault. According to the Montana Department of Corrections website, Bristow was sentenced in 2005 for mitigated deliberate homicide in Lewis and Clark County. 

Current charging documents show law enforcement were called to the 300 block of South 32nd Street on Saturday night for shots fired. 
The documents state Bristow fired several shots at a home. A bullet hit a woman in the leg at the home. Documents state Bristow and the woman had been dating, but she had broken off the relationship in July. In the court documents, Bristow admitted to law enforcement he fired shots into the home. He also told Billings police he had used methamphetamine two days before the shooting.
