Couple sentenced for abducting their children in 2015

The woman who along with her husband abducted their children in October of last year receives her sentence.

Maria Sandovall was sentenced to five years with the Department of Corrections Friday for custodial interference.

Ed Zink, attorney with the Yellowstone County District Attorney's Office, says Sandovall pleaded guilty in August.

Earlier this week Sandovall's husband, Donald Stratton, was sentenced to a three year deferred sentence for custodial interference.

Sandoval and Stratton were arrested after Sandoval took her children from the Center for Children and Families in October 2015.

The couple was taken into custody separately near Great Falls. The children were found safe in Great Falls.
