Billings Veteran Stand Down

Posted: Updated:

Thanks to Volunteers of America and the Offices of Veterans Affairs, 45 service providers gathered at the Shrine Auditorium, for the Billings Veteran Stand Down. There they offered veterans a one-stop shop for services and assistance and veterans were able to learn more about employment, housing assistance, and much more.

KULR-8 spoke with one veteran, Charles Houle, who told us this was his second year in attendance. Houle said he finds the Stand Down to be very helpful and was already interested in a program called Horses Spirits Healing, Inc. He said he hadn't made his way to all the booths just yet, but definitely had plans to get his hair cut, as that one of the many services the Stand Down provided.

“It's very informational and I'm meeting a lot of people from different branches of service,” said Houle.

Bill Holder, VOA Director of Veteran Services, said the need for their services is great in the Billings area, and they want to get the word out to veterans that they are here for them.
