Community walks for human trafficking awareness

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS, Mont. -

On Saturday there was a big turnout at South Park in Billings as dozens gathered to participate in Walk For Freedom, a silent walk to bring attention to human trafficking.

Rebekah Begay, a survivor of human trafficking herself, is dedicated to spreading awareness about an industry that she knows all to well.

Begay hosted the walk put on by a group called A2, their goal, to make people aware that human trafficking does happen and it happens right here in our state and across the world.

All ages joined A21 for the silent walk.

Organizers for A21 say that human trafficking fuels the growth of organized crime, undermining health, safety, security and the basic needs of humanity and they say human trafficking is the fastest growing crime in the world.

A21 organizers tell us the walk was a success and that it exceeded their expectations.
