Names chosen for grizzly cubs from Montana

UPDATE: ZooMontana Executive Director Jeff Ewelt announces the names of the two grizzly cubs temporarily living at ZooMontana.

Ewelt says nearly 14,000 people voted for their favorite name for the male and female cubs.

He says in the end the most popular name for the male grizzly was Huckleberry and Finley was the most popular for the female grizzly.

The temporary home of two orphan grizzly cubs is ZooMontana. And you can help choose their names.

ZooMontana Executive Director, Jeff Ewelt, says they've had the cubs for about a month.

He says the male and female siblings permanent home will be at the Saint Louis Zoo.

Ewelt says the habitat for the yearling cubs isn't expected to be ready until mid next year.

In the meantime, you can help choose their name. From now until 11:59p.m. on October 6th, you can take a survey to pick your favorite name.

In a news release it states over the past two years, the cubs' mother was known to kill domestic animals. After repeated incidents of her climbing on porches and looking into windows and opening shed doors, she was euthanized.
