Rocky Football Excited to Open Season on Road

Posted: Updated:

The Bears will probably need to get comfy in their hotel rooms early this season, because they'll be there a lot. Rocky starts the season with four of it's first five games on the road. The Bears open at MSU Northern, but will get the chance to play a Big Sky team for the first time since the 90's in Northern Colorado in week two before their home opener against Carroll on september 10th. And they say they're fired up to take on such strong competition to kick off the season.

"It's exciting just to get to see how we match up against a bigger school, and go somewhere different," said Bears senior runningback Jade Olsen. "I always like to travel to places we've never traveled before, and I'm excited for it.

"That'll be a great chance for us to come together as a team," Bears senior defensiveback Cole Jelinek. "And then when we come home for Carroll that's a huge game for us, it's going to be exciting. I actually would rather start on the road, to be honest with you. It'll build us up for when we come home for that first opening game."
