Missing 5-year-old Billings girl found safe in North Dakota

BREAKING UPDATE: According to the Billings Police Department, five-year-old Maripoza Halbert was located safely at a hotel in Bismarck, North Dakota. Her mother has been arrested for felony custodial interference. 

Billings Police are asking for the public's help finding a 5-year-old girl.

A Missing and Endangered Person Advisory was issued early this morning for five-year-old Maripoza Halbert. Police say Maripoza is in the care of the State of Montana and is believed to be in danger.

Police say Maripoza was with her non-custodial mother, Velia Collins, for a weekend visit. They say Collins has not returned the child.

Police say Collins has a history of drug use and is reportedly headed for California. Police say Maripoza's non-custodial father, Cory Halbert, may be with them. Police say he is a violent drug user.

Maripoza is described as a white female, 3 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 39 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes and a light brown complexion.
