Former MetraPark basketball court to be auctioned off
BILLINGS, Mont. -
You could own a piece of MetraPark.
Yellowstone County Commissioners on Tuesday declared the old basketball court at Metra, surplus, and it can be sold at public auction.
The court was replaced last year, 40 years after it was put in place when MetraPark opened in 1975.
Also on Tuesday commissioners voted to begin receiving proposals from organizations to provide mental health services to inmates in the Yellowstone County Detention Facility. Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder says because of the number of people in the jail they need to take mental health care to the next level.
The county's public auction is scheduled for Wednesday, March 2nd at 10:00a.m. in the county commission board room.
County representatives say they won't accept bids for less than $5,000. You can either send in a sealed bid or bid on it in person.
