Daycare worker charged with sexual crimes against children

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS, Mont. -

A Billings daycare worker was charged with sexual crimes against children in court on Monday.

Jared Addison Terhune, 40, pleaded not guilty to five county of sexual assault, two counts of sexual intercourse without consent and one count of sexual abuse of children.

Terhune is the son of the owner of Sunshine Daycare in the Heights and at times, he supervised the children.

Court documents state his victims were all children under 13 years old. One was under the age of three.

Victims said in statements to the police that Terhune took pictures of them in their underwear, and touched them inappropriately. They say these assaults happened at the daycare and also on a daycare-run camping trip.

Court documents indicate he told some of them he was 'checking for ticks' when he touched them, others say he tried to bribe them so they would pose for pictures.

Terhune's phone and computer were checked, police found images of child pornography of the reported victims and others.
