The Laurel Locomotives were dealt a major blow last week when starting quarterback Caje Golden went down with a season-ending torn ACL.
But the Locos have a great plan B. Casey Cole, a junior transfer from Forsyth, replaced Golden and led the Locos to a win over Butte Central, improving Laurel's record to 3-0.
Cole will start when Laurel hosts Glendive Friday night at the Laurel Sports Complex at 7 p.m. Cole was an all-state QB in Class 'B,' and he started two years for the Dogies.
"It was tough seeing Caje go down," Cole said. "But I thought we bounced back and fed off him really well. We stayed positive, and he really helped us out on the sideline."
