Valentine's Day is just a day away a busy time of year not only for retailers, but U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers.
Although Valentine's Day flowers may seem harmless customs says they can have hidden threats that could seriously damage our agriculture and natural resources in Montana.
Officers will be looking for specific types of prohibited plants from crossing the border. One thing to keep in mind is that you must declare all agricultural materials or else you could receive a hefty fine.
It would take way too long to list all plants allowed and not allowed into the U.S. An border protection officer says the best thing you can do is call the boarder in advance and ask about your specific plant or you can visit their website.
