HELENA, Mont. -
Two big bills will be heard this morning at the house judiciary committee. Bill 370 is an act abolishing the death penalty and instead replacing it with life imprisonment-without the possibility of parole.
The committee will also hear representative Daniel Zolnikov's bill 412 which would protect anyone under the age of 21 from being prosecuted or charged---if they seek medical help as a result of intoxication.
I spoke with representative Zolnikov yesterday, and he mentioned the bill having bi partisan support. 21 other states currently have some type of medical immunity law for minors….Zolnikov continued saying, this bill is all about safety…not so much about ticketing…in his words----we want to make sure the students going to college, who are exposed to alcohol are not afraid to seek help if they need it.
