One man is dead after a one vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 15 just past exit 278.
Cascade County Sheriff, Montana Highway Patrol, Montana Department of Transportation and Vaughn Fire Department responded to the crash site just before 4 a.m.
According to MHP, the driver was headed onto the viaduct to enter I-15 south. He lost control of the vehicle, hitting a guardrail, a light pole and then rolled down the hill onto I-15 north.
While the investigation is still ongoing, MHP Trooper Dana Cockrell said that speed was likely a factor.
Montana Department of Transportation blocked off northbound traffic until about 10 a.m. this morning as MHP conducted their investigation. Commuters were detoured off I-15 and directed to the Central Ave. West freeway entrance.
At this time the identity of the victim in the crash has not yet been released.
