BILLINGS, Mont. -
A Billings man now has one of the most prestigious enlisted positions in the nation. Al Garver, a 31-year Air Force veteran, has been sworn in as the command chief master sergeant for the District of Columbia Air National Guard. According to the DC National Guard, Garver will be the voice of enlisted soldiers and airmen in the Guard, bringing issues of personnel, readiness standards and quality of life issues to generals' attention. He has previously served in military law enforcement and as a historian. He also ran for Mayor of Billings in 2005.
