Fair Food Dilemma?

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS - A few days into MontanaFair, people started complaining of suffering from food poisoning like symptoms.

Marilyn Tapia, Director of Environmental Services at RiverStone Health said, if people feel they became sick from something they ate at the fair or any food establishment, the first thing they need to do is call the Environmental Health Services Department of RiverStone Health.

According to Tapia, after you call Environmental Services, a sanitarian will contact you and ask questions about your symptoms and the types of food you might have eaten over the last couple days.

People tend to equate food poisoning with the last thing they ate, but Tapia said that isn't true. Food poisoning can be from food you consumed in the last 7 to 10 days.

To report what you believe is a food poisoning incident, call 406-256-2770/
