Montana State Parks Celebrate 75 Years

Posted: Updated:
BILLINGS, Mont. -

Montana State Parks has been in existence for 75 years

Erin Bell works at Cooney State Park. She said state parks across the state are doing a few different things to celebrate this major milestone.

Cooney State Park hosted a concert featuring The Jaded Ladies, a folk/rock group from Red Lodge.

Bell said it speaks volumes about the people of Montana because a lot of the work to keep the parks open comes from volunteers.

Samantha Carnline said she came to the festivities because she has always enjoyed the outdoors and could not think of a better way to celebrate 75 years of Montana State Parks.

Cooney State Park isn't the only park celebrating. Lake Elmo State Park has events planned.
